A fundamental reality of careers is that no one is promoted to reinforce the status quo. No matter their function or expertise, as individuals advance through an organization, they are increasingly expected to improve performance, create new sources of value, strengthen organizational capabilities, and prepare their organizations for the future. Whether they are leading a function, a business unit, or an enterprise, their success is measured not only by how well they manage today's operations, but also by how effectively they shape tomorrow's opportunities. The most successful leaders develop a compelling growth story: a clear vision of how their organization must evolve, what opportunities it should pursue, and why change is necessary now. Transformational leadership begins with self-awareness. Aspiring senior leaders must understand not only the future they seek to create, but also why they are the right person to lead that journey. Effective leaders know their strengths, recognize their weaknesses, and understand how their leadership style affects others. They are willing to confront developmental gaps, seek feedback, and adapt as circumstances require. Successful individuals need both a growth story for the organization and a personal story that explains why they are uniquely positioned to lead that transformation. Developing these are essential for building credibility, influence, and trust. This course is designed to help students develop both dimensions of transformational leadership. Students will learn how to craft a compelling vision for organizational growth and change, communicate that vision effectively, lead people empathetically through periods of uncertainty, and apply proven frameworks for executing transformation. Equally important, they will deepen their understanding of themselves as leaders, identifying the strengths they can leverage and the capabilities they must continue to develop.
