Global Enterprise Management is designed to cultivate globally minded, world-class managers. Many of the most pressing challenges facing businesses today are global in scope—ranging from macro-level forces such as nationalism, protectionism, and geopolitics to micro-level developments like the rise of emerging-market firms, the international flow of talent and innovation, and the rapid advancement of digitization and automation. A firm’s ability to succeed in this environment depends on leaders who can think strategically, innovate effectively, and manage operations with a truly global perspective. This course is structured around three key modules: (1) Formulating Global Strategy – covering international value creation and global competition, (2) Implementing Global Strategy – addressing cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&A), strategic alliances, and the management of people and organizations across culturally and geographically diverse settings, (3) Managing Global Enterprises Amid Contemporary Challenges – tackling issues such as weak institutional property rights, sociopolitical risks, nationalism, and geopolitical tensions. The course features a diverse and engaging set of cases, including not only traditional multinational corporations (e.g., in consumer goods, automobiles, entertainment, and pharmaceuticals) but also AI- and digitalization-driven platform companies and technology startups. The learning experience is highly interactive, incorporating a rich mix of teaching methods such as case discussions, scenario simulations, film analysis, class debates, role-playing exercises, and guest lectures.
